Which SKU's descriptive information gets displayed for a multi-SKU item when importing a Catalog Content File?
Pages in FatStax are able to display multiple SKUs for a single Product Name on one Page. A single Page displays a table listing multiple SKUs, Size, and Price for a Product; However, the page will only show descriptive information from one of the products.
So what happens when the same product name is available in different SKU's and the different SKUs do not have the same descriptive information?
Multi-SKU Item Import File
Here is a Catalog Content File that has three SKUs associated to one Item or Page. The Page has a name of "Rabbit Serum" and it will list three SKUs of "a", "b", and "c". Each SKU or row has values for Description and Property information. So what if the descriptive values for these three SKUs were different? How do you know which values will display on the one Page after importing this file?
A file imports by reading row after row, starting from the top of the file and going to the bottom. The last row in the file will be the last Item or SKU to get updated. In this example, it will look at the last row - SKU "c" and update the Page with values from that row.
This means that the values for the last SKU listed in the file for a multi-SKU Item will get saved and appear on the Page. Any descriptive information of previously processed SKUs will be overwritten by the one that comes last.
To change this, simply correct the descriptive information or move the row down to be the last one read during import.
