I can't open or view my Resources when my iPad is offline
If you can't see your Resources (PDFs, videos, Microsoft Office Documents) when your iPad is offline, they have not been downloaded to your iPad yet.
1. You will see this screen if you attempt to open a file that has not yet downloaded.
If you are on a WiFi network, then the Resource will start downloading immediately.
If you are not connected, it will not download and this message appears instead.
2. Check the status of the Resources. Sync again if status is not Complete
To see the status of each Resource, tap the Resources button at the bottom of the main screen. Then tap Manage (1) to show a list of the Resources and their status. Complete means they are downloaded to the iPad and are ready for viewing offline.
Tap the Sync Now (2) button at the bottom to manually start the Download process again if you do not see Complete (3) in the Status Column. You must have a good WiFi signal during the download process otherwise the process will be interrupted and not complete.
3. Check if WiFi is working by using Safari
Sometimes its difficult to determine if the WiFi signal is adequate. Check by using Safari and opening up a popular website like Google.com or cnn.com. If it is too slow or won't respond, that is a good indication that you need to find a better network.
4. An Alternative: Enabling Downloading over your cellular network
By default, FatStax will not download Resources over a cellular network. There could be significant data charges depending on your plan. However, in an urgent situation, you can switch the app to download Resources on a cellular network.
Open your iPad Settings App and swipe on the left hand list until you see FatStax or your custom app. Then switch the Allow Media Sync to On. This will stay in this position unless you switch it off. Please be aware of the potential data charges.
