New Features in FatStax 2.2
Here are a few of the new features in the newest version of FatStax, released in September 2013. These features apply to version 2.2.4 also.
Carts are now Stacks
Email a Resource without sending the entire page
Now you can select a Resource directly from the Resource Library and email the link. Previously, you needed to find the page that the Resource was attached to and send that. Future versions will enable you to choose a resource directly and add to a Stack. For now, if you want to add a Resource to a Stack, you still need to add the item/page with the Resource attached.
Single-Page or 2 Page Mode when viewing PDFs
Specials button changes to Quick Links
Offline Images more reliable
Sometimes those images you see on pages in your app didn't show when offline. We added a feature that will automatically grab the images you see on the FatStax page and make them available offline more reliably. Obviously, you need to be online in order for the app to work its magic and grab the images. Once complete, you can go offline and still see everything.
On the Settings screen, you can see the progress of this download. You don't need to do anything other than keep FatStax open with a good WiFi connection. The download will happen automatically, once you see Completed, the images are downloaded and ready to view offline.
Downloading resources is easier and more reliable also. We added some better messages so you and we can tell exactly what is happening with resources you haven't downloaded yet. For instance, you will see Not Downloaded - No WiFi if the filehas not downloaded due to inability to access WiFi. **Pending** will show when you are online and the file is in queue to download. Downloading is the status as the app is retrieving that file.
Select Manage from the Resources library to see the status of each file. The process will start automatically but you can also tap Sync Now to start the process again (if items don't download).
For those using multiple catalogs, we made it possible to link all those catalogs to only a single user name (email address). From Settings>Catalog List, you can see 3 sections.
Downloaded Catalogs - These are the catalogs that are already downloaded and exist on your iPad. You can tap these to switch catalogs. The checkmark indicates which is the Active catalog
Available Catalogs - This is a list of catalogs that you are allowed to download. They are not yet downloaded to your iPad though.
New User - This is only used if you have an additional user name you want to add. Usually reserved for administrators if needed.
